Biography
Persa acts for a broad range of construction industry participants, including principals, head contractors, subcontractors, consultants and project managers. Her client base spans large property developers, social infrastructure providers, not-for-profit and charitable organisations, and blue-chip commercial clients. She practises in Melbourne and advises on projects across Victoria and nationally.
Persa advises across the full lifecycle of construction projects. On the front end, she drafts and negotiates construction procurement documents including all types of construction contracts and subcontracts, consultant agreements, project management agreements and deeds of novation. On the back end, she acts for parties in dispute, manages adjudications under Security of Payment legislation, and assists with contract administration throughout delivery. Her litigation and dispute resolution experience encompasses VCAT, the County Court, the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Court of Appeal and the High Court.
Persa handles matters of significant procedural and jurisdictional complexity. Her dispute work includes matters involving multi-party proceedings across tribunals and courts, including appellate proceedings to the Court of Appeal and applications for Special Leave to the High Court. She has over 20 years’ experience in the sector, acting across all sides of construction transactions.
Persa’s practice spans both front-end and back-end work, giving her a complete view of project risk from procurement through to resolution. Clients recognise her for the clarity and practicality of her advice and her ability to identify commercial outcomes in technically and procedurally complex matters.
