Biography

Nada acts for Commonwealth and State government agencies and departments on procurement, contracting, liability arrangements and intellectual property matters. Her clients include major Commonwealth departments and state government departments.

Nada regularly advises on contracting arrangements, contract governance and management frameworks, legal risk and liability regimes, intellectual property arrangements, application and compliance with Commonwealth and state procurement rules and requirements, approach to market strategies, preparation of requests for information, requests for proposal and requests for tender. Nada regularly advises on legal issues during tender evaluation processes and is frequently involved in negotiations for high value and strategic procurement contracts.

Nada has acted on large-scale government procurements across a range of sectors. For the Victorian State Government, Nada advised on the procurement of a multi-layered healthcare program for the Victorian prison system. Nada has also been engaged on a number of client secondments and acted as legal lead in enterprise-wide procurements for essential services including facilities management, fuel supply, transport services and has been responsible for management of significant Australian and international intellectual property portfolios comprising of pending and registered trade marks, patents and domain names across a range of industry sectors.

Nada’s combination of expertise in the application of, and compliance with, Commonwealth and State level procurement policies and statutory requirements, broad procurement experience across varied sectors and expertise in intellectual property gives her an integrated capability to align with the full lifecycle of government procurement processes and resulting contracts. Nada's in-house client secondment experience gives her a client-side focus, enabling her to deliver legal advice to achieve procurement outcomes that legally sound and align to client objectives. Nada also provides legal advice on a pro bono basis to not-for-profit organisations.

Nada's experience

Department of Defence

Working with and advising the Department of Defence (including as a secondee) for a complex procurement of essential facilities and maintenance and related services across the Defence Estate.

Advising the Department of Defence on the strategic procurement and commercial contracting arrangements to procure ground military vehicle capability for the Australian Defence Force.

Advising the Department of Defence on strategic and commercial contracting, procurement and negotiation matters and commercial workshops for the Hunter Class Frigate Program.

Victorian Government

Advising the Victorian Government on a range of complex procurements, including for procurement of primary and secondary healthcare services within Victorian prisons.

High-value government contract negotiation

Regularly involved in the review and preparation of procurement document packages, providing legal advice on procurement strategies, assisting with legal compliance during tender evaluations and engaging in legal negotiation for complex, high-value and strategic contracts for Commonwealth and State government agencies and departments.
