Michelle is an experienced intellectual property lawyer and registered Trans-Tasman Trade Marks Attorney, with a special interest in trade marks, branding and copyright.  Michelle has worked inhouse, in Government, and for some of Australia's leading intellectual property and law firms.

Biography

Michelle has worked in intellectual property for over 20 years, advising Government and commercial clients on intellectual protection, enforcement and infringement. As a registered Trans-Tasman Trade Marks Attorney, Michelle has a special interest in trade mark protection and enforcement and enjoys working with clients to create strong and enforceable trade mark protection strategies.

Michelle has assisted clients with a range of commercial contract matters with a particular emphasis on intellectual property protection and enforcement. This has included preparing and advising on copyright licences and moral rights issues, research agreements, consultancy agreements, procurement and services agreements across a range of sectors including health, IT, not-for-profit, professional services and government at all levels.

Advising some of Australia's most recognised brands on various intellectual property matters including brand selection, clearance and roll out, and international trade mark protection. For example, advising a recognisable fuel chain on the re-brand of service stations across Australia and advising Australia's largest travel group.

Advising on copyright protection, copyright issues in commercial contracting, government and copyright disputes.

Preparing and reviewing commercial contracts such as services agreements, research agreements, consultancy agreements, licence and grant agreements across all sectors and with a particular emphasis on intellectual property.
