Biography
Matthew acts for a broad range of clients including ASX-listed medical device manufacturers, mining and energy companies, ad agencies, media companies, ISPs, telecommunications carriers, cosmetics companies, credit providers, software developers, transport and logistics providers, wine producers, franchisors (in retail, food, hospitality, agribusiness and motor vehicle sectors), health, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and technology startups. He has managed the trade mark portfolios of an international hotel chain, a major Australian energy company and a worldwide group of educational institutes.
Matthew advises on IP commercialisation and procurement, information technology, competition and consumer law, franchising and privacy. His focus is primarily non-contentious commercial and transactional work, including IP licensing, technology agreements, procurement contracts and franchise arrangements. He also has broad experience in the effective non-court resolution of disputes. His ICT expertise is underpinned by a decade of prior experience in the IT industry.
