Biography
Madeline acts for residential aged care, support at home and NDIS providers as well as retirement village operators. Madeline's clients include publicly listed groups, private providers and not-for-profit organisations.
Madeline is the Deputy Chair of the Queensland Law Society Elder Law Committee, providing expert advice to the QLS and developing policy positions, guidance materials and submissions on legislative and policy initiatives.
Madeline provides pragmatic advice to businesses in the health, aged care, retirement and NDIS sectors. This includes day to day advice on regulatory compliance matters as well as responding to significant regulatory notices and decisions, managing complex disputes and assisting with challenging regulatory and administrative decisions.
In the transactional space, Madeline provides expert regulatory advice in due diligence and contract preparation and negotiation.
Madeline provides sector-specific corporate governance, risk management and structuring advice, training for boards and strategic advice in managing complex regulatory issues.
Madeline gives expert advice in relation to , critical incident investigations and coronial investigation and inquests.
To assist providers with everyday requirements, Madeline drafts and negotiates commercial agreements and manages disputes including debt recovery matters.

Aged care acquisitions
Conducting specialist legal due diligence in aged care, retirement living and NDIS acquisitions including regulatory compliance review and assessment of agreements, including providing:
- aged care regulatory advice to Estia Health on the acquisition of three residential care homes from Calvary Health Care ($92mil), 7 residential care homes across NSW and Vic from the Aurrum Group ($253mil); and the Vacenti Group Queensland portfolio of seven residential care homes and associated assets ($360mil);
- retirement village regulatory advice to Stonepeak on its investment in Aura Holdings' Queensland retirement village business;
- NDIS regulatory advice to Marrang Holdings Ltd, an Australian public unlisted investment vehicle that is operated by Bombora Investment Management, in its acquisition of A360 Holdings Pty Ltd, a medtech company that developed the Autism 360 platform for A$23.6 million.
Aged care reform
Our team supported more than 140 aged care providers to deliver innovative and intuitive tools to support the transition to the new Aged Care Act in November 2025, including:
- The aged care transition tool, which identified all of the obligations in the new Act and what was required to meet them, with clients being able to apply the tool in their environment to track their progress
- Customised training for aged care boards about the reforms and their new responsibilities
- More than 60 template policies and agreements
- Tailored support across compliance queries
- Developing in partnership with clients their particular approach to the new Financial and Prudential Standards, including their FPMS, LMS and IMS
Care minutes and enforceable undertakings
Advising providers on care minutes compliance including negotiating an enforceable undertaking with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
Retirement village and aged care closures
Providing advice to Bethany Christian Care in relation to the closure of its Beth Eden retirement village and aged care home, including securing resident approval of a retirement village closure plan.
Coronial matters
Acting for aged care providers in coronial investigations and inquests, including an investigation into the death of multiple residents in similar circumstances.
