Luke acts for developers, contractors and subcontractors on front-end construction contracts, risk allocation and disputes across commercial, infrastructure, high-rise residential and health and aged care projects.

Biography

Luke acts for property developers, head contractors and specialist subcontractors across a range of project types, including commercial and industrial developments, large infrastructure projects, high-rise residential, and health and aged care facilities. He is based in Sydney and advises clients across New South Wales and nationally.

Luke drafts and negotiates construction contracts across a range of standard form and bespoke frameworks, including Design and Construct, Managing Contractor and ECI procurement models. He advises on all aspects of contract administration, risk management and risk allocation during project delivery. He also acts for parties in construction disputes, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution. His practice spans industry-standard AS series contracts as well as PPP and alliance-adjacent structures for complex projects.

Luke’s project work includes major private hospital development, large-scale residential towers, A$100 million-plus club and hospitality redevelopments, and aged care facilities procured through managing contractor and ECI models. His matters regularly involve multi-party contract structures and interface risk between head contractors, managing contractors and specialist subcontractors.

Luke brings both front-end and back-end capability to construction matters, with detailed knowledge of industry-standard contracts and the practical delivery issues that generate risk and disputes. He sits on the Property Council of Australia Facilities Management Committee and is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction and the Society of Construction Law.
