David acts for major Australian and international banks, private credit financiers, funds and corporate borrowers on banking and finance, construction and investment finance, asset finance and personal property securities law.
Biography
David acts for all four major Australian trading banks, regional and foreign banks, investment banks and private credit financiers, as well as registered and unregistered managed investment schemes and corporate and SME borrowers. His clients operate across the property, construction, hospitality and accommodation, health and aged care and professional services sectors.
David advises lenders and borrowers on the full range of financing arrangements: bilateral and syndicated facilities, investment and construction finance, acquisition and leveraged transactions, business and cashflow lending and asset finance. He advises on personal property securities law, including the application of the PPSA to complex financing structures, and advises on unfair contract terms law as it applies to small business lending. He also advises funds, including registered and unregistered managed investment schemes, on their debt funding requirements.
David acts for some of Australia's largest banks and financial institutions and regularly presents to these clients on legal developments affecting their businesses. His financing work spans bilateral and syndicated facilities across property development, construction, commercial and industrial assets, aviation and maritime finance. He brings direct commercial experience to his legal practice, having worked as a management accountant with Unilever Australia before entering the law.
David's background in commercial accounting underpins a practice built on genuine financial literacy. He understands the financial implications of the transactions he executes and translates legal risk into commercial terms that clients can act on. His expertise in personal property securities law and unfair contract terms for small business lending adds depth to his banking practice beyond standard finance work.
