Ben acts for major Australian and international banks, non-bank lenders, receivers and insolvency practitioners. His financial institution clients include the four major Australian banks.

Ben advises on complex commercial litigation, securities enforcement, insolvency disputes and property litigation. He appears regularly in the Federal Court, State Supreme Courts and VCAT, and represents clients in mediations across Australia.

Ben has appeared in Federal and State Courts for more than 14 years across all Australian jurisdictions. His matters include multi-party litigation involving ASX-listed companies, high-value receiver and manager engagements, contested property proceedings, and enforcement of complex security interests.

Ben combines litigation depth with strong insolvency and banking expertise, advising at the intersection of security enforcement and dispute resolution. His work for Blackstone in a contested industrial leasing dispute, including EPA notices to produce, demonstrates his ability to manage contested enforcement proceedings with regulatory dimensions.

Blackstone

Acted for Blackstone in a significant industrial leasing dispute. Successfully obtained court orders for possession of the property and managed responses to statutory notices to produce issued by EPA Victoria arising from the tenant’s conduct.

Ferrier Hodgson

Acted for Ferrier Hodgson as receivers and managers of a pharmacy chain across the Eastern seaboard. Negotiated and drafted sale documentation for several individual multi-million dollar businesses and established security interests in personal property.

Melbourne-based property consortium

Acted for a large Melbourne-based property consortium in urgent proceedings brought by receivers in relation to a multi-million dollar contract of sale. The matter was set for trial within five weeks of commencement, requiring preparation of affidavit evidence from six witnesses.
