Biography
Aimee acts for high net worth individuals, large private corporate groups, family offices, charities, not-for-profit organisations, accountants, financial advisers and superannuation funds. Her practice is concentrated in private client tax, wealth planning and succession.
Aimee advises on complex tax strategies, succession and estate planning, trust structures, asset protection and corporate and commercial arrangements. She designs and implements customised estate plans addressing intergenerational wealth transfer, business succession, blended family considerations and future family provision risk. She also advises on GST and indirect tax matters arising from complex transactions and project delivery agreements.
Aimee has acted on complex matters including a A$400 million insurance claim for a private corporate group, advising on tax and commercial strategy and making submissions to the ATO. She has advised on estate and succession planning for clients with total asset pools exceeding A$200 million, and on family law tax advice involving 18 entities with a total asset pool of approximately A$50 million. She also advises on GST issues for Sydney Metro arising from the Victoria Cross Integrated Station Development agreement.
Aimee spent close to 10 years at EY, where she led the Private Law Team advising on sophisticated private wealth matters. She has been recognised as an emerging leader in the profession, receiving the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 award and was named the Emerging Tax Star and Gordon Cooper Memorial Scholarship recipient. Thomsons is on the ATO legal panel, reflecting the team's standing in contentious tax work.
