Biography
Adam acts for developers, principals, consultants, head contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and local governments across Western Australia’s construction, infrastructure and natural resources industries. He is based in Perth and previously worked in-house for a government-regulated energy company in the United States.
Adam advises on front-end construction matters including tender preparation, contract drafting and negotiation, contract administration and in-house client training. His dispute resolution practice covers commercial negotiations, mediations, expert determinations, Security of Payment adjudications, judicial review of adjudicator’s determinations, arbitration and litigation.
Adam has acted in significant Security of Payment adjudications and court proceedings arising from major Western Australian infrastructure projects including the Roy Hill Iron Ore Project, the Perth Children’s Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre. He has also appeared in Western Australian Supreme Court and District Court proceedings involving civil works and property disputes with publicly listed companies, and achieved a first-of-its-kind statutory demand decision in Western Australia on the interaction between Security of Payment legislation and the Corporations Act.
Adam combines front-end construction advisory with experienced dispute resolution practice, covering the full lifecycle of construction and infrastructure matters from contract formation through to adjudication, arbitration and litigation. His prior in-house experience with a regulated energy company informs his understanding of commercial and operational priorities in major project environments.

Roy Hill Iron Ore Project
Acted and advised on civil works disputes, including adjudication under the Construction Contracts Act 2004 (WA), arising from the design and construction of dewatering and water transfer infrastructure for the Roy Hill Iron Ore Project.
Acted and advised in $27 million plus disputes in relation to the design and construction of an 8km overland conveyer system for the Roy Hill ROM4 mine expansion project (including multiple adjudications under the Construction Contracts (Former Provisions) Act 2004 (WA) and multiple applications for judicial review in the Supreme Court of Western Australia).
Northern Goldfields Interconnect
Acted and advised in a $46 million plus dispute in relation to the design and construction of an approximately 580km buried gas pipeline (including adjudication under the Construction Contracts (Former Provisions) Act 2004 (WA)).
Great Southern Water Supply
Acted and advised in a multi-million dollar dispute in relation to the construction of an 8km buried water pipeline.
Commercial Office Building Dispute
Acted and advised in a $30 million plus construction and property dispute in relation to the design and construction of a six-level single tenant office building.
Recreation Centre Dispute
Acted and advised in a multi-million dollar dispute in relation to the design and commissioning of a multi-purpose leisure and community facility.
Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre
Acted in multi-million dollar adjudications under the Construction Contracts Act 2004 (WA) involving civil works disputes arising from construction at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre.
Perth Children’s Hospital
Advised and negotiated in respect of civil works disputes arising from the construction of the Perth Children’s Hospital.
250-hectare Greenfield Development
Acting and advising in relation to the preparation and negotiation of head contracts involving the multi-stage design and construction of an approximately 250-hectare greenfield development and in relation to civil works disputes.
Integrated Commercial Development
Acted and advised in relation to the preparation of ECI agreements, head contract and consultancy agreements for the design and construction of a $350 million plus 20 storey integrated corporate headquarters.
Hospital Development
Acted and advised in relation to the preparation and negotiation of ECI agreements, consultancy agreements and project management agreement for the design and construction of a $40 million plus day hospital.
